Hi there! I'm Evie, an enthusiastic, young and driven industrial designer and I am utterly excited to start pursuing my career in UI/UX Design. In my designs, I strive for designing for an aesthetic user experience by aiming to respect all human skills. Let's stop exploiting our cognitive skills only by slamming a GUI on each and every product, whilst some contexts require solutions that go beyond the digital domain or can thrive from using the benefits of both the adaptability of the digital world in combination with the richness of the physical world.
Drawing inspiration from the field of psychology, peripheral interaction, calm technology and physical- and rich interaction, I try to embrace the qualities of the digitality of today's age instead of solely seeing it as something that can only obstruct a meaningful experience. Let's allow the digitality of today's age to give back what it initially 'took' from us.
I invite you to learn more about my vision and identity as a designer by visiting the 'About' page.
A theoretically infused product proposal for offering new entryways into our immense and vastly growing digital photo archives was translated into a viable product suitable for retail purposes, by adopting an iterative user-centered design approach and involving a market-relevant stakeholder. The initial design has been improved by performing two design iterations,
both supported by congruent user studies and relevant literature. The consolidated design (MELO) was evaluated with the user as a final act, which revealed that a novel product like MELO would offer simple but powerful handels that serve as a blank canvas for how meaning could be found, created or built, based on the user’s interpretation, attitude and curiosity.
